Youth Workshop (May)

On May 7, 2026 as part of the Bicentennial Bluffs Choice Neighborhoods Initiative (CNI), and in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Joliet, we engaged youth in a fun, interactive session to share their ideas and perspectives on the future of the community.

This workshop was designed to better understand how youth experience their neighborhood: how they get around, the places they value most, and the challenges they encounter.

Through interactive activities, participants mapped their daily routes, discussed safety considerations, and identified the spaces that matter most to them.

The session also provided an opportunity for youth to share ideas about what they would like to see in their community, including spaces for gathering, recreational opportunities, and new programs that support their needs and interests.

What participants shared will inform the development of the Bicentennial Bluffs Choice Neighborhood Plan, ensuring it reflects the needs, priorities, and experiences of local youth.
