Neighborhood Tour with Planning Coordination Team

On June 12, 2024, the Planning Coordination Team visited the Bicentennial Bluffs neighborhood. This team, which was brought on board in late May, will assist the City of Joliet and the Housing Authority of Joliet with the Bicentennial Bluffs Choice Neighborhood Plan. The Planning Coordination Team is integrated by Borderless Studio, Collabo Planning and Teska who have collaborated in multiple previous Choice Neighborhood Plans around the country. This meeting included Mayor D'Arcy and District 4 Councilman Cesar Cardenas.

During the neighborhood tour, Michael Simelton, Chief Executive Officer of the Housing Authority of Joliet, along with team members from the City and the Housing Authority, visited key housing sites and other significant locations within the Bicentennial Bluffs. A major topic of discussion throughout the tour was the ongoing efforts and investments in the Planning Area community, highlighting opportunities for community engagement and connection.
